OTHM Introductory Certificate
Course Description:
The OTHM Introductory Certificate is suitable for Student Members who are at the beginning of their careers. Candidates do not necessarily have to have experience of working in the industry at the outset of the course but, if they do not have this experience, students are expected to be working in the industry on a part-time basis during the course. The Introductory Certificate course allows candidates to acquire useful basic knowledge as a preparation for a career in the industry
Course Modules:
The OTHM Introductory Certificate consists of 4 modules:
1. Introduction to Travel, Tourism and Hospitality 2. Introduction to the Business Environment 3. Introduction to Business Communication and Customer Care 4. Introduction to Business and Finance Assessment: - 30 questions multiple choice to be completed in 1 hour at an OTHM Approved On-LineExamination Centre - Candidates should attain at least 50% in both the Project and On-Line Examination to gain the Certificate - Grades will be allocated according to the OTHM grade table Intake: January, April, July and October
Study mode: Full Time
Duration and hours: 24 weeks, 15 to 21 hours
Progression: On passing the OTHM Introductory Certificate Students will be eligible to be considered for OTHM Professional Certificate course or ABE Diploma in Travel, Tourism & Hospitality
Entry Requirement:
- You must be 18 years or older at the beginning of the course.
- Individuals who wish to commence or have commenced work in the tourism and hospitality industry + English language competency of IELTS 6.0 NB: If concurrent English language tuition is offered it is recommended that students have IELTS 5.0 at the beginning of the course and IELTS 6.0 by the completion of the course.
